About:

This is a Sixth Form Student initiative that promotes wellbeing and mental health.

We have established a well-being portal for students, by students to ensure accessibility.

This website will focus on providing resources for students in need, along with showcasing engaging activities and initiatives that encapsulate community involvement in the strive towards well-being.

Additionally, we will include mental health helplines and display various activities and articles undertaken by students at school.

Executive Principal and CEO

I am incredibly proud of our students who have put together this website. Not only are they showing an awareness of the importance of good mental health but they are also doing something positive to help others.

This is what we do at The Westminster School, Dubai.

Focusing on maintaining good mental health in young people is so important. Modern life is stressful and young people today face a multitude of pressures that their parents did not have to deal with. We must do all we can to support them and support each other. The more we talk about mental health the more it becomes normal to take care of it in the same way we take care of our physical health. On these pages, you will find plenty of ideas on how you can improve your well-being but the most important thing to remember is, if you are worried about your mental health please tell somebody. The pastoral team at school is here for you and if they can’t help you directly themselves they will certainly know someone who can.

Thank you to our students for doing their bit to make our world a happier place.

What is well-being?

A combination of feeling good and functioning well is well-being. It is a sustainable condition that allows the individual to develop and thrive. Having control of one's life is essential.

Ultimately, well-being is determined by how we feel both physically and mentally. Our capacity to perceive and reflect on our own thoughts and emotions sets us apart from other creatures. Therefore, it is our responsibility to maximize our quality of life while we have the opportunity to do so.

Who is responsible for your well-being? YOU are responsible for your well-being. It's a personal responsibility that each of us carries. While external factors can influence our well-being, it ultimately comes down to our choices and prioritizing our physical and mental health.

So, as we navigate through life, let us remember that our well-being is in our hands. Let's take charge, make choices promoting physical and mental health, and strive to create a life filled with joy, contentment, and personal growth.
